FC Copenhagen are champions of Denmark

The match between FC Copenhagen and FC Nordsjalland of the Danish Alka Superliga was held at Telia Parken Stadium on May 16, 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Two second-half goals from the striker Federico Santander gave FC Copenhagen a 2-0 win and secured their 11th Danish league title. Santander first scored in 63 minute, when he was assisted by our own Benjamin Verbič and, despite being positioned near the edge of the box, fired a low, but powerful shot past David Jensen, the FCN's goalkeeper. Only four minutes later, his scoring quest continued, this time by tapping Verbič's low centre-in from close range, thus bagging his 11th leage goal. Our Verbič disscussed the championship win after the match: »Before the game we knew that if we won, we would be champions. We fought as we did in all our other matches. We really went for it to get ahead and then got that second goal. I think we as a team have shown that when we must win, we win!«
