Berič with twenty goals already

Robert Berič has already proved that his attacking skills are of paramount importance for Rapid Vienna. At the moment, he is the second best scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga and is only surpassed by Salzburg's Jonathan Soriano, who leads by four goals. During the past weekend, all eyes were on the match between Rapid Vienna and Salzburg, the best two teams in the league. To keep its chances of winning the title, Rapid desperately needed to end the game victoriously, which is why as much as 27.000 spectators packed into the Ernest Happl Stadium to watch a fierce battle with numerous surprises. At first, it seemed that Rapid's fate was sealed, but the players from the capital managed to pull themselves together and equalise. Thus they earned a point and are now only six points behind their biggest rivals. In the first half, Salzburg scored three times and was clearly the better team on the field, but the second half opened with an unpleasant surprise for the guests as Robert Berič, Rapid's best player managed to reduce the lead of the guests by beating Salzburg's goalkeeper in the 51th minute. Assisted by Florian Kainz, this Slovenian National Team player celebrated his 20th goal this year. Philipp Schobesberger took care of the second goal for the home team, while Phillip Prosenik, a young substitute player, achieved the equalising score and gave the cheering crowds a reason to celebrate. It is worth mentioning that Berič played an important role in Vienna's effort to score for the first time.
