The Slovenian team U17 managed a great shot. Cadets have won at the qualification tournament for inclusion in the European Championship in the first round with a 3: 0 against Romania. In the second round they lost 1: 3 against England and in the decisive match they won 1: 0 against Norway. Consequently they were placed second. That was enough for inclusion in the final tournament, on which were placed eight winners and seven second-placed qualifying national team. Slovenian national team will be placed in the championship in Bulgaria, as a part of the European elite in the category of U-17, which further includes the team of France, Croatia , Belgium, Greece, Austria, England, the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Russia, Spain and Bulgaria. Slovenia is the smallest country that has managed to be included in the final tournament. The only goal in the decisive match was scored by Jan Mlakar, who has recently moved from Domžale in the famous Italian Fiorentina.
Mlakar has scored his eight goal against the Norwegians in the qualifications and thereby he has taken first place among shooters in the qualifications.
